Beautiful Waterfalls in California

Beautiful Waterfalls in California

Planning a trip to the Golden State? Make sure you check out the Upper Yosemite Falls located inside of Yosemite National Park. This trail is definitely intended for the seasoned hiker. The elevation change throughout the trail is equivalent to climbing two Empire State Buildings, but we promise, when you get to the top it’ll be worth it!

Yosemite Falls drops roughly 2,425 feet, making it one of the tallest waterfalls in the continental United States. The falls are broken up into three parts, the lower falls, middle cascade, and the upper falls. While the lower falls and middle cascade are breathtaking, we recommend your strap on your boots and make the hike all the way up to the upper falls!

At the top of the falls is Yosemite Point, which is one of the only places that will give you an entire 360 degree view of Yosemite Valley. At Yosemite Point, you’ll also be close enough to get a wonderful view of Half Dome, without having to complete a separate hike!

The trail that leads up to the top of Yosemite Falls is roughly 7 miles long, and will take anywhere from 6 to 11 hours. Filled with step inclines and breathtaking views, this long hike is definitely worth it. It’s not everyday you get to see one of our tallest waterfalls and a complete view of Yosemite Valley!
